Transpersonal/Mindfulness

Transpersonal psychology is based on the understanding that there is a larger reality than what Eckart Tolle calls “the little me.” This larger reality is the realm of consciousness, which includes our Essential Self, or True Nature, Soul or Spirit. We will use present centered awareness to help you go through specific wounds into the aspects of Self that your wounding blocked. Then, once you have accessed that, our work will help you stabilize and integrate these expanded states of consciousness, such as joy, compassion, love, strength, value, oneness, etc. Presence oriented, or mindfulness-based therapy is based on the principles of meditation, observing inner experience with compassion and openness. This work is focused, deep, very organic and effective. It involves accessing the relevant unconscious material and simply observing the thoughts, feelings, memories, and kinesthetic experience associated with the issue. Through the power of awareness, and non-interference (equanimity), inner transformation and freedom unfolds naturally, but much more quickly than through simple meditation because of the focus and support that my guidance can bring. Additionally, my clients often get so much out of using mindfulness in sessions that they go on to develop a meditation practice, if they don’t already have one, and find that the therapy makes their meditations easier, deeper and more enjoyable. . The essence of experiential therapy is to bring awareness directly to your psyche, particularly unconscious aspects of yourself and engage them directly in the session rather than focusing on discussing or analyzing yourself. This creates shifts which then directly integrate into your life from “the bottom up” rather than “top down.”
